Master Keyed

At Securifix, we can provide Securifix restricted key systems for your domestic properties, or businesses including Master Keyed. Call our team on 020 8392 2233 if you need expert advice about which system is right for you

What Does Master Keyed Mean?

In simple terms, “Master keyed” means a lock (or a set of locks) is set up so that more than one key can open it. At Securifix, we can create and configure entire lock systems such as Master Keyed for Home, Office or other uses.

How It Works

A group of lock cylinders, normally all configured to “differ” and operated by their own individual key (often called a change key). All lock cylinders can be over-ridden / opened by a Master Key.

Simple Example

Imagine an apartment building:

  • Tenants each have a key that opens their own apartment only.
  • The building manager has a master key that opens every apartment (and maybe common areas too).

Why People Use Master-Keyed Systems

  • Convenience: one key for managers, maintenance, or owners instead of a big key ring.
  • Controlled access: different people can be given keys that only open the doors they need.

Some systems can have multiple levels, like: A grand master key that opens everything across multiple buildings, master keys for each building, and individual keys for each door.
