Securifix Safes

Securifix supplies and installs Insurance Approved safes, and we advise you on exactly which brand, model, and specification is right for what you’re protecting. Rather than leaving you to guess between dozens of models, our team assesses your requirements — what you need to protect, your insurer’s stipulations, and where the safe will be fitted — and recommends the right safe for your situation, then installs it to the standard your insurance policy requires.

Insurance Approved — What That Actually Means

An “Insurance Approved” safe is independently tested and rated to a recognised standard — most commonly EN 1143-1 — which sets out exactly how much resistance it offers against forced attack. Each safe carries a cash rating (the amount of cash it’s rated to protect) and a corresponding valuables rating, typically ten times the cash rating for insured jewellery and other valuables.

Insurers specify a minimum cash/valuables rating based on what you’re storing, and many policies also require the safe to be professionally installed and correctly fixed — an incorrectly installed safe can invalidate the rating even if the safe itself is compliant. Getting the rating wrong in either direction either leaves you under-insured or means paying for more safe than you need.

How We Help You Choose

Choosing the right safe isn’t just picking a brand. Before we recommend anything, we look at:

  • What you’re protecting — cash, jewellery, documents, firearms, data media — each has different rating and environmental requirements.
  • Your insurer’s requirements — the minimum cash/valuables rating your policy specifies.
  • Fire risk — whether you need fire protection alongside burglary resistance, and for how long.
  • Location and fixing — floor, wall, or freestanding, and what the safe needs to be anchored into.
  • Access — how often the safe needs opening, and by how many people.

From there, we recommend a specific brand, model, and grade — not just a category — and talk you through why it fits your situation before you commit.

Supply & Installation

Once a safe is agreed, we supply and install it as a single service. Correct installation is not a formality: most Insurance Approved ratings are conditional on the safe being fixed in line with the manufacturer’s specification, so professional installation is what makes the rating — and your cover — valid in practice. We handle delivery, positioning, and fixing, so the safe is ready to use and correctly certified from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Insurance Approved" mean?

It means the safe has been independently tested and rated — typically to EN 1143-1 — for resistance against forced attack, with a cash rating your insurer can rely on when setting your policy terms.

What cash rating do I need?

This is set by your insurer based on the value of cash or valuables you hold. As a guide, valuables (jewellery etc.) are usually insured at around ten times the cash rating, but you should confirm the exact figure with your insurer before choosing a safe.

Do I need a fireproof or burglary-rated safe?

It depends what you're protecting — burglary ratings protect against forced attack, fire ratings protect contents from heat and flame in a fire. Many safes offer combined protection; we'll advise which balance suits your situation.

Can you install a safe in an existing building?

Yes. We assess the fixing point — floor, wall, or freestanding — as part of the recommendation, so installation is planned before the safe arrives, not worked out on the day.

Do you offer safe removal as well?

Yes — see our separate Safe Removals & Disposal service for removing and disposing of an existing safe.
